Stephanie Kreiner, president of the board there, said residents still play mah-jongg and attend Saturday evening entertainment in the casino. Spring Glen Woods, in Ellenville, N.Y., has residents from New Jersey, Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens. "We want to bring it back to its heyday," Ms. Schneider said.

If he wishes to dispute the fact that he is abusing his powers as Mayor to subvert our form of government, let him surrender his paycheck as "Acting Village Manager" and dedicate himself to public service, receiving only his stipend as Mayor. Of course, he won't do this. The Mayor and his long-time live-in girlfriend take home a total of $52,470, giving taxpayers nothing but the shaft. With his incompetence and secrecy, he has provided no useful service to the Village of Monticello as Acting Village Manager. He must be removed.

"You don't think the news media has an obligation to justice? I think so. I don't think the news media is some independent self-governing force out there. They are a tremendous force. I think they have responsibilities," said Sullivan County Court Judge Frank LaBuda during a court conference Monday morning.

"We are adding 635 stores this year," says Chassimi, "to go over the 11,000 mark by January 2014."To put that in perspective, Dollar General had $14.8 billion in revenue in 2011, and 90,000 employees; Walmart, the dominant giant of American retail, had $470 billion in revenues from less than 9,000 stores and 2.2 million employees. Where Walmart is a whale, Dollar General is a school of nimble dolphins.
